One of my children was born with a tooth (bottom row at the front). Glad he was the third and not the first!!!

I still have all their baby teeth. They are all adults now and none of them has ever had a filling. This used to create difficulties when they were at school. The school dentist used to send a report to "the authorities" . I had to get our dentist to write to said "authorities" proving that our lot attended regularly and their teeth were pristine and untouched because the teeth didn't need the attentions of a dentist and NOT because no dentist had ever seen them!!!

Ooh, gosh - did it cause you problems or pain, Josephine? :bl:

How sweet that you still have their baby teeth - I think that's really lovely.

I remember my school dentist used to check my teeth then shout "Feet, feet!"
It was years before it finally dawned on me that it was his Polish pronunciation of "Fit,Fit"
In my teenage years, Mum insisted that only one dentist in South Kensington would be allowed to touch my teeth - no-one in their right mind would ever have ignored her orders! Didn't help that I wouldn't brush my teeth because in those days all toothpastes semed to be spearmint - and I didn't like spearmint. Even hell-fire would not have made me allow something into my mouth which I didn't like the taste of! So I had loads of fillings :bl:

A bit uncomfortable to start with but when he was about two the tooth broke and he was left with a little stump. It didn't hurt him but he dribbled until it fell out at the usual age so he always had a sore chin in winter, no matter what cream I put on to protect it. So perhaps he suffered more than I did!

Refusing to put anything in one's mouth which tastes unpleasant rings bells - one of the other children detests anything green to this day. Seems healthy enough without green food. I know there may be long-term things for that one to face later in life but I did my best when the child was little. Now the children are adults I put family harmony first and don't criticise their choices.

But my thoughts are my own!!!

My daughter's tooth is still hanging by the skin of itself! It's been wobbling for months, but it's just not coming out!
Well, my daughter's tooth had been hanging on for ages, and in the meanwhile, its neighbour became wobbly and fell out within a week. So I took her and my son to the dentist today, and he plucked the tooth out with no trouble at all.
