Fr Emil Kapaun was baptising on the battlefield, I suppose that must have been soldiers who had turned to Christ, had never been baptised as babies, and requested baptism before dying. What a wonderful story of holiness and bravery, |

It is indeed one of those stories Rose that makes one marvel at the bravery and goodness some people exhibit. What is the point of making him a saint? Does that make his story more inspiring? What are we to make of the stories of miracles due to his intercession> Why were these cases picked out for intercession? Is any account taken of prayers which were not answered in this way? John |

One point will be to draw attention, to give us a role model, an inspiration. All I know about cases being picked out for intercession is a cause on which I wrote an article. A group of people may set up a society devoted to the cause, and they can invite people to put cases forward for intercession. Sorry John I do not know whether account is taken of of prayers that were not answered with miracles. It has just struck me, we always hear of miraculous cures, never about other miracles such as, for example, a well springing up in an arid region, during a drought. |
