It could be something to do with hearing problems. My father in his later years suffered, mainly from lack of clarity. When he made comments he would have once whispered such were in a low voice which could have been heard by others nearby. I need my ears flushed out every few months and when I jump as a fly lands on the floor I worry that perhaps I am not as discreet as I should be before the flushing. (After we repeated a question to my father in different forms and he stilll did not understand we would ask him if he wanted a £5 note - that he always understood.) |
