Weekend Retreat; Yay!

I am going on a weekend retreat ~ a real answer to prayer! I felt I just needed a little bit of space, peace and quiet, so I e-mailed the Convent where I am an Oblate, and Sr. Ruth phoned me to say they have a room available this weekend! I was expecting to have to wait a few weeks, as you usually have to book in advance. I have the little bed-sit room, right next to the Chapel, so can pop in and pray whenever I like :sotc:
It will be a silent retreat, so plenty of opportunity to pray, meditate and reflect. My husband will also have as much space as he needs to practise his bass guitar while I'm away!
I will pray for you all while I am there :crossrc:

Spirtually rewarding, yes ~ but, as always, I am back with more questions than answers!
Physically relaxing, definitely...I even had an hours nap in bed on Saturday afternoon! :bl:
Plenty of prayer, the offices, Mass, spiritual reading. I feel I have made a deposit in my spiritual bank ~ good job really, as I came back to a bucket of pooey baby clothes, a messy house and last nights dirty pots! (hubby was working Friday and yesterday). But that's good, as it gets me back into the swing of things straight away
I will take time to ponder the lessons of the weekend later this evening...

You, and may others were prayed for! :prayrosary:

Because they portray real life.

The emoticon ironing is a man...he has no bow in his hair!
This also reflects real life. Happy housewife that I am, I hate ironing (even being in possession of a vintage iron hasn't made it glamourous for me!). So, the ironer in this house is my husband (bless him!)

Honestly, what is rubbish about a woman hanging out washing, a man ironing and a woman washing up? Seems a fairly balanced mix to me. Happens that way in this house all the time ~ that doesn't mean it doesn't happen slightly different elsewhere, but if the smilies were reversed, someone else would be making a fuss!

What isn't real life is a little yellow ball with a face drawn on being able to do anything at all, let alone iron! :jester:
