Parishioners at a church in Sweden celebrated Easter on Sunday by unveiling a 1.8-metre-tall statue of Jesus that they had built out of 30,000 Lego blocks.

It took the 40 volunteers about 18 months to put all the tiny plastic blocks together, and their creation shows a standing Jesus facing forward with his arms outstretched.

The Protestant church was filled to capacity with about 400 worshippers Sunday when the statue went on display behind the altar, and some of the children in the congregation couldn't help but touch the white art work.

I've seen the lego statue in a larger picture and it is very good.

On the other hand that other one gives me the same creepy feeling as the picture of the "laughing Christ".

I love The Laughing Christ - or at least the Ralph Kozak picture (although I do think the industry that has grown up around it does detract from the image).

It is one of the few images that truely gives me a feeling of the humanity of Jesus.

The statue from Our Lady Immaculate and St Philip Neri Church in Uckfield just makes me think

"Look - No Hands!"

:sorry:
