Dad had a laparoscopy this morning.

I'm afraid the news is bad.

The cancer is more advanced than they thought, and inoperable.

Thank you very much, everyone. It isn't helping matters for dad that he has to put up with me and the children. Although I've been helpful with shopping and meals, I more than make up for any good I do by my inability to discipline my children effectively!

So please pray that I keep my cool, and don't make things more stressful than they need to be. I'm not doing very well!

I am so sorry to hear this, Clare :(
I hope that they will be able to treat him with chemo or radiotherapy, if not an operation.
I expect too that it will be important at this time for your Dad to have his daughter and grandchildren around him, even if they are boisterous. My younger daughter's children are a handful at the best of times, and yet they bring me untold joy!

I will pray a decade of the Rosary for your dad tonight, and remember him in my prayers :prayrosary:

Clare, I have not words to say all that I feel, but offer this prayer for you all.

May our Lord and Saviour ease this burden you all bear. May God enfold you all with the strength of His boundless love. May the Holy Spirit bless you with the light of healing grace. May our prayers be united with those of our Blessed Virgin as we all pray for you.
