October 2009, 22:13 If only our MPs put just 10% as much effort into SERVING our country, rather than fleecing it, our economy would be booming. But that just isn't the way politics works. And folks wonder how 'decent' people could possibly go out and vote BNP. "EASY", I think the answer would be! Lets be careful not to tarnish all M.P.'s with the same brush. There are some honest and dedicated ones out there. Extremists such as the B.N.P. thrive on stereotypes, don't they? Trouble with the way politicians are viewed by many is that it leads to widespread disillusionment with mainstream politics, with people not bothering to vote, thereby letting in extremist parties such as the B.N.P. I believe mainstream politics has the answer. They are in a position to address the problems of poverty, the housing crises, the gap between rich and poor... issues which can cause resentment, which in turn can be exploited by extreme parties. As Catholics these are the sort of issues we need to be collaring politicians on!

October 2009, 15:58 Funnily enough Mairtin, I seem to remember there being an article in An Poblacht a few years' back where the BNP was trying to establish an Irish equivalent in Ireland I wasn't aware of that, Patrick, mind you An Poblacht was never on my regular reading list I do know that they had a lot of direct links with the Loyalists in Belfast and as far as I recall, some of them even came over to take part in the Drumcree protests.

Yes, they are in a position to address those problems, but have served only to exacerbate them. The housing crises were brought on by Conservative and Labour, and the gap between rich and poor was started by a Conservative government. Although they're in a position to effect change for the better for the people of this country, absolutely none of them have done anything about it. They have made sure that they have houses, no financial worries and decent healthcare, to the detriment of the man in the street. Corruption and greed from the top down has ruined the economy of this country yet you believe they have the answer? They are the problem! They are the reason petrol prices are ridiculously high, housing crises are at an all-time high, that homelessness figures are up year upon year, the NHS is in such a mess, businesses are closing left, right and centre, you pay a ridiculous amount in various ridiculous taxes upon which we see very little return, state education is sub-standard, religious and racial tension is increasing and of course, immigration and crime committed by immigrants is at an all-time high. And you say they have the answer? They are the problem! The electorate have the answer.

Whilst there may be instances of "guests" breaking the law and not treating our customs with respect, I haven't seen any evidence to suggest that this is widespread.

"They" providing they are legal immigrants or were born in the EU have a perfect right to populate any area of the UK they like and as heavily as they like!
