:thanks:

You are a treasure Rose!

CARLO
I could have told you that, I had my first insight into my status as a treasure, when I was lying down in my pram.

I remember being in a pram with my brother; forget now who sat at the head and who sat at the foot. As I was older, and perhaps more dominant, I probably sat in the best place i.e. at the head.

Did you, being a good Catholic baby, face East? That would involve some gymnastics, wriggling about whenever you went round a corner. Did your mother face you or lead you?

One must respect tradition.

They don't do presidential chairs in prams.

After all these centuries someone has at last come up with the hint that traditional catholic familes have rotating pram bodies with compas control so that children always face the direction of the rising sun.

I read on the Angelqueen site today that Pope Benedict XVI has never said a public Mass in the Tridentine rite since his election. Is this true? If so, should we draw any conclusions from his practice?

Archbishop Nicols: Catholic Herald 24th July 2009

most troubling of all to my mind is the mindset that somebody might get caught into, because perhaps they don't like some aspect of how the Mass is being celebrated or the music that's been chosen or something, that they begin to turn their back on the Church's ordinary pattern of prayer, the ordinary form of the Mass and say: 'I can't accept that.'

That's really quite serious, because if they can't accept that then they are inexorably distancing themselves from the Church.

and as reported in The Tablet 8th August 2009

The view that the ordinary form of the Mass, in itself, is in some way deficient finds no place here. Indeed anyone who holds such a view does not come within the generous provisions of 'Summorum Pontificum'. Such a person is inexorably distancing themselves from the Church.

(This and the previous post may well be more appropriately placed on another thread, but I couldn't work out which. I am quite happy for it to be reassigned.)

Is an "old buffer" the male equivalent of an "old boiler"?
