Please can we pray for Jade Goody who seems to be having a tough time with cancer lately, and also for the repose of the soul of Wendy Richards?

I don't really watch telly. It's doesn't really interest me. But I believe famous people don't have it as easy as many would like to believe.

One of my most-liked TV personalities was Steve Urwin (may God rest his soul also).

May God Bless all people in the media living and dead, and may the very famous always remember the saying: "With great power comes great responsibility."

What a tragic waste of life.
We cannot say this for sure, Patrick. Already many more women are going for smear tests due to Jade's story, and I believe she has touched the lives of others through her suffering. She has something of a "victim soul" about her, even though she will not be aware of this! God, I believe, is using her in ways she will never understand. She is planning to be baptised with her sons this coming weekend, and my prayer is that she will live long enough to accept her place in God's family. The very fact that she is turnng to God in this public way in her last days will be a witness to others.

In the eyes of the world, death from cancer at such a young age will be a waste, but it is never a waste to God, and I believe He bestows many graces on those who suffer in this way. [It is a frightening journey I have trodden myself, but God chose to spare me through early intervention and surgery]. May God bless her and keep her, and may she soon see Him face to face...Amen :crossrc:

Patrick's posting and Mrs Pogle's response prompted me to open up a topic in Catholic Discussion.

My prayers go out to Jade and her family. I know she is to be Christened along with her two sons on Saturday. And I also keep Wendy Richard close in my prayers. What a marvelous actress and so very kind to Jade right before she died. Cancer, Alzheimer's, Stroke, Heart Attacks - all so terrible and especially in someone so young as Jade.

Yes Mrs P

I noticed the victim soul about her as well. What I do admire about Jade is her absolute honesty - what you see is what you get - and she is so refreshingly non politically correct.

I'm not sure if I believe in curses as such - but I could scream now at all those who burnt effigies of her after her thoughtless racist remark to Shilpa Shetty. It's interesting how Jade only became ill after that. I really do believe that hate sends out very dangerous vibes.

May the Lord God encircle her and her children with his wonderful Love. I am absolutely delighted that she and her boys are being Baptised.

(Mrs P - your post moved me to tears, God Bless you.)

I add my prayers also for Jade and her family.
She was so young and so full of life.
Prayers also for all who are stricken with life threatening diseases.

Rest in Peace , Jade.
