Here's your cake, Penfold! It has cinnamon buttercream in the middle, and the caramelised apple on top was lovely and sticky   Or if you prefer, you can have some cherry scones! Now with jam & cream!!

My dear Mrs Pogle, Your cakes are.......well.....workmanlike in appearance and no doubt reasonably pleasant to the taste. I am trying to show that pre-V2 cakes were of a generally grander and no doubt tastier nature. I know nothing of 'Plaster of Paris'! Such things were unheard of pre-1962! Oh!
