Another excellent read / listen is Father Dennis McBride's "Where does the Jesus story begin" that's available as a book but well worth buying on CD if you travel a lot.

I've already had a look at it, Richard, and was not overly impressed There's actually nothing new in it - in fairness, it does not claim to present anything new - just another collection of the various arguments on one side of the debate, most of which are readily available in lots of places, this book just brings them together for convenience. There is, of course, really nothing new to say about HV, all the arguments today are the same as they were 40 years ago except possibly the actual experience of the impact of the document but here is not the place to discuss that. What a pity. I was blessed to find it in a secondhand bookshop for �1.99 :) But one can read it on-line through Google Books here
