Another list of anagrams, each one containing the name of a person from England, Scotland, or Wales (alphabetical order) who has been declared to be a saint, blessed, or venerable. This list includes several English martyrs. It also contains several Old English names.
Most, as you can see, are single names. Where two names are shown, the first is the Christian name, the second is the surname or family name.

Isn't an anagram supposed to contain actual real words as opposed to random arrangements?

The Concise Oxford Dictionary defines an anagram as a word, phrase, or name formed by rearranging the letters of another, such as spar, formed from rasp.

So, strictly speaking, these do not qualify as anagrams. But they do make an interesting puzzle.
