Else we may smite the Dolomite as once were smitten the Hittite, the Girgabanned worde, the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Perizzite, the Hivite and the Jebusite!

And great shall our Triumph be.

There. I'm so glad I've got that off my chest.

I just tried, and it wouldn't let me write it either. The filter is set to look for a partial match of the offending word, but where the olde worlde spelling came from I know not.

I think the banned word was only the four letter version, leaving the "e" at the end.

A Triumph Dolomite Clare? That's a blast from the past. You must live in a very deprived parish or a very rich one full of eccentric millionaires who drive battered old cars. When faced with such a situation my own response is to pop back into Church for a few decades of the Rosary until all is clear. Or you could send the kids up to start breaking off the wing mirrors. Both systems work.

We had a Triumph Dolomite once. It was yellow with a black roof. The girl in the next bed in the maternity ward nicknamed it the wasp which I thought quite appropriate. Does anyone else name their cars? If so, what are they called and why?

Is that Michael Morrissey who writes in the Catholic Press? I didn't know he was a car.

When I was in my early twenties, I had a purple MG Metro that was nicknamed "The Flying Grape". :smoke:

Some years ago our son-in-law bought and built a kit-car. It was very low, open and black. He took me to the supermarket in it. We had to climb in and out. A little lad looked and said: "Hello Knight Rider!" which some may remember was a US Soap.
