Very sad news indeed.

Like Gerard, I will pray for all concerned.

May the soul of Basil and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace. Also may their bereaved relatives and friends be consoled.

I echo Derek.

May God our Loving Father grant Eternal Rest to Basil, and may all the family and extended family be comforted at this time, and may their faith be especially strengthened to support them at this time of need.

May God Bless JARay for being a loving brother.

JARay

My grateful thanks to Rose for her thoughtfulness in what she has printed. My sincere thanks to all of you too. I had Mass said for my brother this morning. I am so pleased that I was able to have five weeks with him before it was too late.

God bless.

Jaray has sent a message:

His brother Basil's Requiem Mass is at 11 am on Friday, and internment at about 12.15. UK time

The choir master, Paul, of the SSPX Church near where Jaray lives phoned Jaray to say there would be Mass there, at 7 pm on Friday, which is 10.00 am in England.

Jaray's email

The choir organiser, Paul, rang me and said that the priest had agreed to make it a sung Latin requiem for Basil. So, of course, I'm going and I shall be doing part of the singing. This just came out of the blue! I did not ask for it. It simply was offered. I had told Paul about Basil's death, of course, but the rest just came. I was both surprised and pleased.
God bless,
Jaray

I suggest:

Cyberforum members who are free from work commitments at 10 am Friday, join with Jaray in prayer, when the Requiem in Australia commences, and again at 11 am. when the Requiem Mass in and funeral in England commence. Perhaps some members will be able to attend Mass that day.

Let us be thankful a local priest has offered to say a Requiem that Jaray can attend, he is far from his brother's family. He spent a few weeks in England with his brother but is unable to fly back for the funeral.

Jarary, we aim to be a CyberParish. You cannot be with your family, at your brother's Requiem. The least we, your fellow Cyber parishioners can do is be with you, in prayer, on Friday.

All we need now is a parish priest. I would like to find a retired one, to join us here.
