I cannot find the Divine Praises in Latin so I've made a stab at translation with my very limited Latin...caestae is chaste, Ithink, and issimo on the end makes it "most" and it must agree....but I'm uneasy with it. :( Corrections, please? Meanwhile, in praise of Saint Joseph---- Vir fidelis multum laudabitur. Et, qui custos est Domini sui, glorificabitur. A faithful man shall be much praised; and he that is the keeper of his master shall be glorified. Prov. 28, 20. Jo |

Dominus custodit te ab omni malo: custodiat animam tuam Dominus.The Lord keepeth thee from all evil, the Lord protecteth thy life. Dominus custodiat introitum tuum et exitum tuum: ex hoc nunc, et usque in saeculum.The Lord watches over thy coming and thy going, from henceforth now and forever. This is my favourite psalm. This psalm says it all, I think, and the 'thees' and 'thous' contribute the beauty of the language. IMO. However, if the "eth"s on the end of the verbs bother you, drop them and substitute an "s". For example, keepeth = keeps, cometh = comes. Does anyone else have a favourite psalm? Josephine |
