I have received a message asking for prayers for a young man, Brendan.

Brendan was already in hospital, and has been transferred into intensive care with a collapsed lung. His parents have been with him all day. A deacon is with them. Doctors are trying to ascertain whether his brain has been damaged.

I will update members as soon as I know more.

Lord, watch over Brendan, his family and those who are looking after them at this time. May they receive peace, tranquility, healing and the certain knowledge of your loving care.

Lord, your will be done.

Amen.

As the situation is critical, Katy and I will keep this topic high on the list.

A couple of hours ago I heard Brendan's lung is severely infected. It is not likely I will hear any more tonight, it is late and his family will be at the hospital.

Please, any of you who get to Mass midweek, spend a few moments in prayer for this family. Brendan is a quite young.

I offer the following Prayers for Brendan and his loving family.

Father, hear us as we ask your loving help for Brendan
restore his health that he may once more offer you joyful thanks.

and

Adapted from the Mass for the Sick.

At sunset all those who had friends
Suffering from sickness of any kind
Brought them to Him and laying His
Hands on each, He cured them; (Luke 4, 40)

Lord Jesus, you healed the sick.
Lord have mercy.
Lord Jesus, you have borne our sorrows
and carried our infirmities,
Christ have mercy.

Father Your Son accepted our suffering
To teach us to be patient in sickness.
May all who are sick or in pain realise
That they are joined to Christ in His
Suffering for the Salvation of the world.
Father, hear us as we ask Your loving help.
Restore Your servant, Brendan, who is sick to the
Fullness of health and to lasting peace.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Mary, our Mother, help of the sick,
Pray for us.

We entrust Brendan's family to the ever loving care of the Holy Family.
May the family be comforted by Their love and compassion.

Our Lady of Lourdes, help of the sick. Pray for Bendan.

God Bless all who visit this forum,

Alan.

Brendan is stable at the moment but not aware of anybody. He is still dependant on the support machine although there are indications that he is doing some breathing himself.
The medical team are conducting various tests, to see what damage has been done. Brendan is still a very very weak young man.

We receive messages from members, and from friends and relatives of members. All prayer promises and supportive messages are sent to people who have asked for prayers. Those messages give hope and comfort.

Brendan's family send their thanks to Cyberforum members, for their prayers and messages. They feel a little better now, thanks to the professionalism of the medical team, support from clergy, and the prayers of many.
