New members may wish to note that, due to a board fault over which we have no control, the "view new posts" facility to the top right of the board is unreliable. We suggest members use "Today's active topics" (bottom centre below forum list) to find new posts. KatyA |

I'm here at Catholic Cyberforum due to the invitation posted on Catholic-Pages.com. I'm a convert, received into full communion on Easter 2003 after a somewhat lengthy journey in RCIA. Raised Southern Baptist and joined the Lutheran church as a young adult. I am married and run a pet sitting service in a beautiful coastal area of the eastern United States of America. One daughter, recently married (let me tell you about my son-in-law :D ). Two stepchildren and two step-granddaughters. My dear husband is not a believer, however, he has been very supportive of the Faith and attends Mass with me on Sundays. I enjoy reading and am currently working on Jesus of Nazareth and Theology for Beginners. Hubby gave me the Navarre Gospels and Acts set for Christmas - YAY! Want to learn to sew and get back to playing piano and doing a bit of light work with the Olympic lifts (used to compete at a low level). Searching for emoticons that will function in Apple Mail (switched to Mac in 2004). Very passionate about a culture of life and support for family life, the return of manhood to Western culture and the reform of the Novus Ordo Mass. |

Not only new to the Catholic Cyberforum but new in Catholicism in general - brought up as a Methodist in South Wales but have become more involved in renewing my faith since joining a Catholic school last year. Have found a new "beginning" both spiritually and intelectually. Married with 2 children - one studying at Canterbury whilst the other is set on joining the Police. Keen on reading, Music and sports - especually athletics. Have really appreciated the help and support of my sponosr towards the RCIA and the guidance of the local Priest in Springfield, Chelmsford. |

Welcome ngarde. A teacher, converted from Methodism to Catholicism as a result of teaching in a Catholic school. I hope you have a sense of humour. Politicians are concerned about pupils being brainwashed in Catholic schools. Its the teachers they should be protecting. Welcome to Cyberforum. Welcome to Catholicism. |

Thanks again for the welcome. http://www.asc-sc.com/ Website for All Saints School Far from being brainwashed I actually feel quite inspired. There is something quite special about working in the school that really makes you come to terms with so many things. There is such a distinct ethos in the school based on community, caring and support that highlight the importance of social responsibility. The children aren't from rich families, they aren't privilaged in any sense but they do share and care - £8,000 for CAFOD in December, for example. Its a pity that those in power can't appreciate this and rather than interfere let us get on with the job. |

ngarde I looked at the site. It is an ordinary state funded Catholic school, getting good results, the pupils are encouraged in their faith. Congratulations to the staff, parents, governors and students. Thanks for giving us the encouraging news. |

As an aside, a close family relative through marriage changed from being an atheist to becoming a practising Catholic after the experience of working as a teacher in a Catholic school. |
