We have mercifully not heard much from the Dutch since the heady days of "spirit of V2" back in the 1970s when many Dutch liturgists seemed to champion every novelty and fad in town. Since then the Church in Holland has virtually imploded! In recent years the Dutch have rarely been taken seriously outside Holland when it comes to liturgical matters.

This latest outburst is I suspect a throwback to the days when they had some liturgical 'street cred'. Today although Father Folkmass and Sister Sandals would like to cheer on the Dutch they know that few Catholics would follow.

We are not so gullible these days!

I was referring to the extract you posted, your reply refers to the book.

Or am I confused?

Yip, Dutch Mass!
Who's saying Mass today?
Ruth.
Oh no, I hate it when she says Mass.
Why?
She's got no teeth!

I wonder what Christ would say to these mutterings. Are we talking trivia?
Jesus would never castigate anyone who proclaimed the truth, only encourage and bless them. Think about it, get back to basics please.

paul.

Hi Paul,

Always getting back to basics. What are your basics in this case please?

Yours in His Name,

Colin.
