What a very Unchristian Post. The reason why they went to Rome was to gather more strength from the Holy Father in their quest for the safe return of their little girl. How could he guarantee them a priest visit, that's not what they went there for.
Well I for one refuse to comment on that insult to the Holy Father, are not his prayers and concern for Madeline and her family the foundation of our being. The faith of this family has been an example to us all.and please God she will soon be found safe and well and returned to her family of faith and love. |

Denis. I don't think Em meant it quite like that. I read the post as well but did not see any insult there. James |

denis What insult are you talking about? Re-read my concern. Do you really think that by going to the Holy Father the child could be found now. Are you suggesting that the Holy Father is some sort of "Jump Leads?" James You are right, I certainly didnot mean any insult to anyone, if I had anything against anyone is the family. I had 3 children and I took them all sort of places, but I never took my eyes off them. Even if wewent for a walk, I make sure that run ahead and never behind as I see many families do. Where on eart am I talking nonsense and where am I insulting anyone? I have read many posting where you [p] do not agree with each other, this is my turn as a "past" father. |

Rose, I have just been told that you posted a reply, but when I log in I cannot see it on the page. You suggest that - It would have been kinder to say NOTHING.there is that, but must I only post the nice thoughts and must I never show my true feelings? that makes me "two faced." If people don't like me when I am honest, I am truly sad. |

I think Em you missed the point of their visit. If you don't agree with it, then that is fine to hold those views. But what actually matters is what the parents think and feel. They wanted to go, and from what they have said they have found it comforting and helpful to their campaign to raise awareness.
I don't think it was insulting, but it suggested that the Pope could do nothing, when actually he can, he can pray and raise awareness, two things which he has done.
But why insult them? Parents always are going to make mistakes, my parents were great, but I still got lost once, I was not in my parents eye for 100% of the time, its unchristian to be critical of people for failing to meet a standard only expected of a saint. |

That is fine.I have nothing against that, but why aren't they at home or searching for her? That excapes me.
That is also fine, I pray for her safety and they don 't need to come and see me . Unless one thinks that my prayers are less acceptable to G-d then the Pope's. Yes, parent are always going top make mistakes, would you like to read my list  |

Em what's the big deal? I decided add something to my posting, after I had attended to something else unconnected with this or any other forum. What I was going to write can wait. No rush. |

Does it upset you that they visited the Pope?
Their daughter could be in 12 countries, 2 continents, she could literally be anywhere! Therefore a physical search for her is not possible, the Police are doing that. By raising awareness it sends the message out to millions in many countries who can look for her! |

Em even the most careful of parents can find themselves in this sort of nightmare - and that includes Our Lady who managed to mislay her child in the temple...... I remember one occasion when Mrs Jamie was struggling with shopping and a pram, when our then-toddler rushed into a lift in front of her and was promptly whisked away...... These poor parents are deserving of every prayer and compassion - there but for the grace of God really do go all of us...... |

I agree with that. Added I do not think some of these things are opportunist. That family may have been under surveillance for days, watching their movements and patterns in order to pick the best moment to move. Then it only take a few moments if all is well planned. If not there, it would have been somewhere else where a weakness is discovered. Families relax on holidays and parents let the children run around with other holiday family's children so, at least ,whoever did it must have realised that a daylight snatch was too dangerous to attempt. If conditions are right and a good escape route is planned it could even happen in front of your eyes and they are gone. But there again, the opportunity did not seem to be there - so at least if it were pre planned then the family was doing most things right. No parent is beside their dhild 24/7. James |

Rose, The problem is that I got an email saying that you responded, and I though that it was deleted by the system. After all, I was responded so many times and I was not informed. I hate not responding, it might look that I am ignoring you. Eve It is true, we all got different ideas and it is getting us nowhere. Timothy It does not upset me at all. If you read Zenit you will see how far and wide they are travelling, what kind of expenses they are running up (other people's money) what can they do that them police cannot? I have said my all now, and can't take it any further, take care. |

The Memorare Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen. Prayer to Saint Jude Most holy apostle, St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor who delivered your beloved Master into the hands of his enemies has caused you to be forgotten by many, but the Church honors and invokes you universally as the patron of hopeless causes, of things almost despaired of. Come to our assistance in this great need that all may receive the consolation and help of heaven in all their necessities, tribulations, and sufferings, particularly we pray for Madeline McCann and her family, and that we may praise God with you and all the elect forever. Amen. **************************************************************** Finally, the moderators trust that members will keep all the McCann family in their prayers. |
