Hopefully, I will find millions and millions of former protestants in Heaven, if and when I get there.

I'm not a Feeneyite! Anyone in Heaven is Catholic, no matter what they were on earth!

A loving God might! He makes the rules. He defines what is love.

Now, Clare, ask me if I claim to know the mind of God.

Do you claim to know the mind of God?

No, I do not.  I have expressed my opinion.

And what do you base it on? It's a pretty dogmatic statement "A loving God would not...". Where was the "IMHO" caveat?!

For all we know, protestants might be given an option, after death, to acknowledge The Church.

One's ultimate destiny is fixed at death.

The Catholic Church does not canonise protestants, because the descendants might not want that.

Is that really the reason why the Church does not canonise Protestants, Rose? Substantiate!

Clare.

I cannot. Sorry Clare, I do not keep records of everything I read. That was in a Catholic newspaper years ago.

Well, if that's the level of authority to back up statements that is acceptable round here...!

Perhaps I should desist quoting encyclicals, Church teachings, and the like, and just quote things that I remember reading in the Catholic newspaper years ago as if they're authoritative!

Most people are asked or expected to provide a source for any claim they make.

Moderators and administrator of this forum do not demand proof for every posting. Members are welcome to ask each other, but not to insist. If a person made an erroneous claim about Church doctrine, we might get involved, but we TALK TO EACH OTHER on this site.

Shall we get back to the subject, of Catholic Evangelisaton?

This forum has always been a chatty place.

We miss out on a simple means of evangelisation:

The Religious "Thought for the Week" in local papers. My parish priest does it occasionally, but his workload increases, with three parishes to run, and to combine into one.
Keep the Faith!

The problem is when people debate what actually is Church doctrine.

Preaching isn't the only way to make converts.

There is such a thing as good example, ie the way you live your life.

Anyone fortunate to go to Heaven is a Saint despite their denomination or status on earth. There will be no denomination in Heaven - not even Catholic - there wont be any need!

There many ways of evangilisation: personal example, preaching, writing books, writing articles or letters to the media, appearing on the media if one has the chance

I think I have already stated clearly we must not give ourselves or any other human beings as good examples but preach only Christ and Him crucified-jimc1

Catholic will be the only "denomination" in Heaven.

It's the Church Triumphant up there! And there's only one true Church!

We aren't meant to hide our lights under bushels either.

Should we regard ourselves as a "denomination" or does this suggest that we are just yet another Christian Church...?

No. That's why I put the word in inverted commas!
