Another remarkable presentation Em. Incidently whilst on the website I was curious to remind myself of the Polish National Anthem. As Germany advanced throughout Europe the BBC used to play the National Anthems of countries occupied until the invasion of The Soviet Union then they suddenly stopped. I hardly recognised only part of it and another part - new to me I'm sure - sounded like a version of Clementine! |

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKmhmtGlVy0 Holy Mother Mary - Martin Valverde - Catholic Music Mothers are typical the world over, there He goes to a wedding, and his moter insists He contributes wine. Enjoy! Might I suggest something, if you like the page, any page I post, would you press one of the stars on the left. The person who set up the video will appreciate it. After all, you would say thanks to an entertainer. One more thing, if you press the very right button on under the video, it will go full screen, when finished press the other like button and it will return to normal. |

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o65l0sW1u6Y Block rosary procession I have a friend in the Phhillipines, and she is Catholic, although not all the Phillipines are, never the less they don't hide it either, and this is an open celebration. |

What a contrast between the processions in Lourdes and the Phillipines! I don't think the latter would be approved in this country. But it does show the catholicity of the Catholic Church and what we may condemn here is the norm elsewhere. When I was in Egypt I was invited to the wedding of an employee in a Coptic Orthodox church. The relatives, and presumably close friends clustered tightly around the bridal couple and celebrant. We couldn't see what was happening but from to time the women and girls gave joyful lulululus. Meanwhile a group of men came casually in wearing a much worn type of vestment and sang Kyrie Eleisons to the tinkle of triangles and clashing of symbols. What they sang seemed to bear no relation to what was happening up front. |

I would feel quite an outsider in such a place, but I think to myuself, does it really matter, they are praying their own way and I don't think G-d is goiny to object. |

If only there were more songs like that of Martin Valverde instead of the pop trash WE suffer today. I was very moved with the very natural scenes of Our Lady in "Mary did You Know". They seem to make the relationship of Our Lady and the Child Jesus more real. I think it was from this site that I went into a probably Caribbean Folk Verson of the song The Virgin Mary Had a Baby Child (not sure of the correct title) and then by chance chose a very classical verson with full orchestra and choir. I wasn't all that impressed with the latter. I do appreciate your choices Em because I wouldn't have time and patience to search You Tube etc. |
