The Dolors are mentioned on the webpage, 7 of them, then the Church, as far as I know, chose to honour them. If this is not the answer you expected, then I misunderstood you - Sorry. Actually when I started the page, I thought I was being unique, only to find that EWTN were making Chaplets. |

So far I have found this, on the website of a religious order: "The devotion of the Chaplet of the Seven Dolors was instituted in the 13th century. It consists of a series of meditative prayers practiced upon a chaplet made up of seven times seven beads. Each section of seven beads is divided from the rest by medals, representing the seven principal sorrows of Mary’s life." I wondered, who instituted them? Were they the result of a vision? |

According to St. Bridget of Sweden (1303-1373), seven promises were made to those who medidate on Our Lady's Tears and Dolors. The Blessed Virgin grants seven graces to the souls who honour her daily by saying seven Hail Marys while meditating on her tears and dolors. These are: 1. "I will grant peace to their families." 2. "They will be enlightened about the Divine Mysteries." 3. "I will console them in their pains and I will accompany them in their work." 4. "I will give them as much as they ask for as long as it does not oppose the adorable will of my Divine Son or the sanctification of their souls." 5. "I will defend them in their spiritual battles with the infernal enemy and I will protect them at every instant of their lives." 6. "I will visibly help them at the moment of their death - they will see the face of their mother." 7. "I have obtained this grace from my Divine Son, that those who propagate this devotion to my tears and dolors will be taken directly from this earthly life to eternal happiness, since all their sins will be forgiven and my Son will be their eternal consolation and joy." INDULGENCES Benedict XIII., September 26th, 1724, granted an indulgence of two hundred days for every Our Father and every Hail Mary to those who, with sincere contrition, and having confessed, or firmly purposing to confess their sins, shall recite this Chaplet on any Friday, or on any day of Lent, on the Festival of the Seven Dolors, or within the Octave; and one hundred days on any other day of the year. Clement XII., December 12, 1734, confirmed these indulgences, and moreover granted: |

When I started to work(?) on that page, I promised myself that it will be my last one. Right, I have already started to collect gifs for another two, and i have taught myself "you Tube" up loads and I am really workimng on it. I thought that I must be an old fogey, but I found there is another man in England, who is 80 years of age and the people love him. It must be something to do with the English water :) |

A wonderful meditation and some lovely natural Mother and Child pictures. I don't, however, understand "Having been Full of Grace" not "Full of Grace". |

I took that to mean the Angel was saying Mary had already been full of grace before she was visited by the angel, and it was not something that had suddenly happened with her pregnancy.
Em we will be very happy if you add some more Marian videos. That one is beautifully serene. |

Em I was thinking two days ago that the Forum had little about Our Lady until you joined us. Thank you for the videos. We moderators appreciate them, as do the members. |

Before Em joined us, we had very little on here about devotion to Our Lady. Em's u-tube postings are such an asset to the forum we have (with Em's permission) decided to devote a thread specially to the videos. The moderators wish to extend thanks to Em. Spiteri for his valued contribution. |
