Yes the sun is shining here too and I am looking forward to joining some of my children and grandchildren for lunch.

God Bless

Alan after such a heartfelt plea for vocations, I pray the day will come when you and your wife will attend an ordination, in the capacity of "The new priest's grandparents."

Happy Easter to you, your family, and our forum members.

Thank you, Em, for helping all housebound Catholics who log onto this forum, to feel they have a part in Easter. I will have to look later, I HAVE to take my dog out in a minute.

Vigil Mass - superb, Our PP, a Polish (visiting) Priest and our deacon + enough incense to keep even Carlo happy.

Happy Easter Everyone.

He is Lord
He is Lord,
He is risen from the dead and He is Lord

Every knee shall bow
every tongue confess
that Jesus Christ is Lord

:D :D

Watched the Holy Father celebrate Mass this morning before a multi-national congregation of 100,000 souls in St Peters.

Every word in Latin! DEO GRATIAS!

Couldn't spot anyone looking uncomprehending or lost! :D

The peace of the Lord be with you all

You clap to that hymn, Gerard??!

In my folk group days, that was one of the slowest, most dirge-like of hymns!

Happy Easter!

Clare,

Clap at the end :D

Actually in larger gatherings when a song mentions the ressurection the participants cheer and clap (usually in the middle of the song in the middle of a verse). Always brings a smile to my face. :D

Gerry.

PS

believe it not but I dont like folk music.

I know you don't like the term but we've got to be talking 'happy-clappy' here!

Some of them would cheer a tax increase!

Still it's Easter!

Have a good one!

ALETHOS ANESTI

Christ is truly risen!

Easter blessings to all. The vigil was beautiful and different. This was the first time I proccessed the Paschal candle in the midst of a snow storm.

The Reverend Edward R. Benoway delivers his Easter 2007 Message. The Easter letter from which he is reading is availible for download on www.fbsynod.com/officeofthebishop

It's Lutheran, but I feel that we are celabrating the same thing. It is for you to pass judgement.

Excellent!

Reverend Benoway relates Mary Magdalen's joy at hearing Jesus speak her name again, to the hope we Christians have when we face personal bereavement, and when we hear of the tragic events in the world, such as starvation, war, and ill treatment of refugees. The message I picked up was "Christ has risen. In the face of adversity there is hope.

That one is very good. Voices are heard, saying the same things over and over again in the backround, mocking Jesus at various stages during the passion. There is a very realistic crucifixion scene. No plaster of parish Jesus looking as though he's just had an expensive hair cut, styling and blow dry. This is really tormented man, awash with blood. The film moves on to the Resurrection, showing the women going to the sepulchre, seeing the stone rolled back, and an Angel, then there are incidents after the Resurrection. Thomas is poking his finger into the wound, and I could imagine him saying "Cor, its a real wound".
