Hi. I was wondering - what does the V and R in the litany in the first post of this thread mean? Thanks
Welcome to the Forum, Amy.
I think it's Latin.
What it means is...
the V identifies the following text is said by the priest or prayer 'leader'
and the R identifies that the following text is the response by the congregation.
It is common knowledge to those of us ancient enough to be familiar with following the Latin Tridentine Mass in our old pre-V2 missals.
