June 2009, 10:19 ... traditionally the Gospel was read from the right hand side, facing the altar and the epistle was read from the left-hand side, facing the altar... Do you mean the other way round? I guess it depends which way you're facing, but from the persepctive of the punter in the pew, the Epistle side is on the right, and the Gospel side on the left.
