We used to kneel around the coal fire with our mother, saying night prayers. I still remember how it went. Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be, O Sacrament most holy, then O SACRED HEART OF JESUS WE IMPLORE O MAKE US LOVE THEE EVER MORE AND MORE followed by Eternal rest and the family's own God Bless prayer. Above the fire there was a picture of the Sacred Heart, with the words that where the Sacred Heart is displayed Jesus' blessing will be on that home. |
