Thanks KatyA , a nice touch for him to speak to the old people and I am sure it was much appreciated. I was interested in an article in the Tablet this week previewing his visit to France described as the Church's "troublesome daughter". The article reckons that this is a difficult one for him as French Mass attendance is at a very low level indeed and there is supicion of Pope Benedict in France because of his previous relationship with French theologians when in his old job. Also hints of suspicion because he is German. It will be interesting to see how this one goes. John |
