* Prayer in thanksgiving for rain Thank you for the rain, Lord It's raining now at night The lightning flash, the thunder crack That tell us of your might For all good things, they come from you Each drop, each ray of light Thank you for this shower, Lord Each roll, each flash of bright Thank you for the rain, Lord The life that comes in drops The wet, wet grass, the rivulets The splashy puddle plops For all our land was parched with thirst The trees, the grass, the crops Please let it fall, please give us more Until this drought, it stops And as the year begins to wane And cooler winds do blow Let not our moisture cease again Please send us lots of snow Fill our mountains, fill them deep Let heaven snowflakes sow Let the seeds of spring be sown Let the rivers flow Thank you, thank you, thank you, Lord Our pleas were not in vain Almighty Father, good and loving Thank you for the rain |
