His first major iniative was to move clergy who had not been pulling their weight. A move to a deprived area and a grotty presbytery was a sort of, er community service. Good boys were rewarded. About a third of the clergy were moved in one day flat. A week or two later more were moved. When the time came for announcements after Mass our curate said Quote: My Dear Brethren, Goodbye. It has been a pleasure to serve the people of this parish. I do not know where I am going. I do not know if I am going. My farewell is a precautionary measure in case the Bishop has a moving day this week. Goodbye.
