Although the moderators and administrators of Catholic CyberForum will attempt to keep objectionable content off this forum, it is impossible to guarantee all postings will be reviewed. All messages express the opinions of the author, and neither the owners, administrators or moderators of this forum, will be held responsible for the content of any message.
Cyberforum goes to considerable lengths to ensure all new registrations are genuine, the forum is monitored almost constantly, and action immediately taken if there are unsuitable posts. It is, as far as we can make it, safe, even for possibly vulnerable people.
Whilst Cyberforum permits and encourages links to other helpful Catholic sites so long as they conform to Catholic teaching we are not responsible for their content. If unsuitable content is brought to our attention, the link will be removed.
In respect of links to chat rooms etc., we advise members to read and note the chat room’s own disclaimer and exercise due care in using such “rooms” . The owner and administrators of Catholic Cyberforum are unable to accept any liability whatsoever for anything arising out of links to external sites

By agreeing with these terms and conditions, you make a commitment that any material you post will be within the law, and you agree that you will comply with the following guidelines:

As this is a Catholic web site, we expect members to conduct themselves in a spirit of charity at all times. While discussions here revolve mainly around the Catholic Church and Her teachings, members of any faith or who lack a faith are welcome to discuss our beliefs and practices with us, but we expect all members to conduct themselves with respect for everyone else here and respect the Catholic ethos of this site.

We have set out these rules as a guideline for member conduct in the interest of maintaining our spirit of Christian charity:

USERNAME RULES
1. Your username may be your real name or a pseudonym.

2 If you choose to use a pseudonym, it may not be the name of a living person or a name likely to be confused with that of a living person.

3 If you are not a member of the clergy or a religious order you may not use a username that includes anything suggesting you are a priest, deacon, or a member of a religious order or the prefix or suffix '+'.

4 If you are a priest or a member of a religious order the administrators may ask for verification of your status.

5. If your user name contains offensive or misleading elements, your membership will be cancelled and you may be banned from future participation at this site.

CONDUCT RULES

1. Messages posted to this board, private messages, and emails sent through the forum email facility, must be polite and free of abuse, personal attacks, blasphemy, racism, threats, harasment, and crude or sexually-explicit language.

2. User names, profile entries, or pictures that are inappropriate to a Christian site are not permitted.

3. Non-Catholics are welcome to participate but must be respectful of the faith of the Catholics participating on the board.

4 Members must show due respect for the people of other faiths who are not members of the Catholic Church.

5 Messages encouraging disaffection with the Catholic Church, it's teachings, and/or any approved Liturgical Rites, are not appropriate and may be edited or deleted at the discretion of moderators.

6 Catholic Cyberforum is proud to honour the Papacy. Promotion of organisations purporting to be Catholic, but not having the full approval of the current Pope, is not permitted, nor are references to the writing of founders or members of such organisations.

CONTENT RULES
1. Do not post others’ e-mail addresses or reveal the content of private communications, in posted messages or to third parties, unless they give you permission to do so. The exception is that private messages considered to be offensive or upsetting may be forwarded to the moderating team.

2. Copyright. It is acceptable to post an excerpt from written or website material, for discussion purposes, acknowledgement must be made, in the form of a url link to the site. Copying of whole articles without permission is illegal.

3. Do not post material from private revelations that have not been approved by Church authorities, or to links to websites publishing such material.

4. Do not post private telephone or fax numbers or email addresses.

DISCUSSION FORUMS
1. Please make every effort to stick to the subject for which a thread was intended by its originator.

2 If you wish to discuss a topic not already under discussion, start a new thread.

3. Please do not introduce topics that have no relevance to Catholicism, other than in the thread "Fellowship Corner."

PRIVATE MESSAGING
1. If you have something to say to an individual member that is not of general interest to the board, use the private messaging system.

2. Inappropriate or harassing private messages are not permitted.

ENFORCEMENT
1. Reports of breach of these rules should be reported to moderators by use of the “Report” button.

2. Material in breach of the rules may be edited or deleted without prior notice.

3. Decisions made by moderators can be discussed with the moderator team via private messaging but not on the public forum itself. However persistent refusal to accept a moderators decision will be regarded as harassment and can lead to suspension or banning. Ultimately the moderators’ decision must be accepted as final.

4 Dissatisfaction with action taken by moderators must not be discussed on other forums.

5. Users who persistently violate the rules will be banned.

The administrators and moderators of Catholic CyberForum reserve the right to remove, edit, move or close any on-line discussion, or part thereof, or merge or split topics, for any reason.
