COS recruiting focuses mainly on RuneScape community forums. RuneHQ, Tip.It, RuneScape Community, and so on. Why not use IRC to recruit? It would be more challenging, but at the same tiime it would be easier. Cons Trying to find people without a clan might be difficult, since they're aren't many popular channels for clanless people. You can only appeal to one person at a time, unless you do find a channel full of people looking for a clan. Pros One-on-one discussion. The potential recruits don't have to read an entire topic to find out what the clan's about. They can ask all the questions they'd like, and receive quick responses. Meeting potential allies. Even if someone turns you down, they'll remember who you are -if you make a good, lasting impression. These people could recommend their friends to COS, or talk to the leaders of their clan about a potential alliance -or war. I can't say I've ever seen this method tested. No one has ever asked me to join their clan through IRC, unless I found the clan's channel while browsing community forums. I think this is a great idea for the Clan Promoters, and anyone else for that matter, to try out. Titan Zeus |

Actually, that was what one of our current Clan Promoters main goal was. To Recruit/Promote in IRC. However that was when he had his own bot which was widely used. Now he doesnt. Good idea nonetheless. What can you expect from Titman though? |

As Zep said we are making an attempt to step up recruitment and this is one of the areas we are working on. I'll bring this up to our CPs specifically and see what they can do with it. |

I never saw this before =o Anyways IRC- I have a mIRC bot but i find it hard to find a way to reach people without getting kicked or banned for spam How do you reach people?- Answer: The only way I have found effective is by updating posts, making new videos and graphics that are more appealing. I have also thought of more ways to get our name out there- 1. War a more diverse amount of clans- if we war different clans that we have never heard of before the name COS will get into more parts of the community 2. Raise combat requirement- If we raise our reqs to 100+ this will allow for the CP's to post in the 100+ section which comtains many more people to recruit from and gives us a sense of pride amogst ourselves 3. Allience- Have an allience, though I know we had have one in the past and I haven't given much thought in how it would work but if we are a good allience and someone quits the allience clan they may join ours, if not at least we will get our name out there. Well, Tit I hope this helped alot |
