Week 9 brings a few upsets, but fewer points. It was one of the lowest scoring weeks across the leauge, with only 2 teams registering over 70 points, and half the leauge (6 teams) finished with less than 60. Beaver's WoodChucks 69 Icie's Juicys 52 This was the most suprising upset of the week, as the Woodchucks (6-2) took down the only undefeated team, Icie's Juicys (7-1). Beaver's team was led in scoring by his kicker, Rob Bironas (Titans), and Clinton Portis (Redskins) led Icie's crew. Both teams had disapointing games from both the Defense and the Quarterback spots. Zingy's Kanguins 108 Jilittleftw 79 In the highest scoring match of the day, the Kenguins (6-2) recovered from last week's loss to Icie with a strong performance over Jilittle (3-5). Zingy was anchored by a stellar performance by quarterback Drew Brees (Saints), though Jilittle also turned in a big push from running back Brian Westbrook (Eagles). Temp's Woodpeckers 40 H2k's Killers 100 The momentum of last week's win over Youngplayer was not enough for the Woodpeckers (1-7), as they fell to last place in a beat-down from the Killers (5-3). Templar, who did not play a quarterback this week, was carried with a strong performance by the Defense (Seahawks), but could not stop David Garrard (Jaguars) and H2k's powerful offence. Zep's Z Team 39 Youngplayers team 75 In another low scoring game, Youngplayer (2-6) snuck up on the Z Team (3-4-1) for a resounding upset win. Youngplayer was led by running back Frank Gore (49'ers), and despite a huge effort from tight end Dallas Clark (Colts), Zeppelin could not get the job done. The Z Team had 6 of 10 players off this week between injuries and byes. Team Colin 70 ENYSE 59 Oooo Ooo Ooo man what a game! Colin (4-4) slipped past ENYSE (2-5-1) in one of the closest games this week. Colin's effort was spearheaded by an exceptional job from quarterback Peyton Manning (Colts), with a valliant effort from Santana Moss (Redskins) and ENYSE coming up just short. Shar's Giants 48 Team Steriods 45 In the closest game this week, the Giants (5-3) survived a strong push from the Steriods (3-5) to pull out the win. Sharington was led by his Defense (Giants), and held off a strong game from wide reciever Roddy White (Falcons) and the rest of the Roids, whose defense was on vacation this week. The current standings are as follows: 1. Icie's Juicys 7-1-0 .875 810 2. Zingy's Kanguins 6-2-0 3. Beaver's WoodChucks 6-2-0 4. H2k's Killers 5-3-0 5. Shar's Giants 5-3-0 6. Team Colin 4-4-0 7. Zep's Z Team 3-4-1 8. Team Steriods 3-5-0 9. Jilittleftw 3-5-0 10. ENYSE 2-5-1 11. Youngplayers team 2-6-0 12. Temp's Woodpeckers 1-7-0 I hope you all enjoyed this exciting week in Fantasy Sports, presented by Icie for America. The midway point of the season is upon us, and now is a great time to check your roster if you have never done so. There were plenty of games that could have gone the other way, if only spots had been filled and bye-week players replaced. There is still time to turn your reason around and make it to the playoffs, but only if you act soon! |
