As I have been following on the forums, some folks think a spy is inside COS. How unlikely this might be, its is also very easy done. I stated today that each time we have added a key, usually within the next few hours or so, a new member has applied. Once that member applies strange things occur such as PK ambushes (Jonni's incident) and Infiltration of the IRC Channel. But, as a very observant teenager, I tend to notice very specific things. For instance with new members, usually a dedicated new member would be posting "About Me's" or "General Chat", however, once the IRC key is changed and that new member is accepted...no new posts by he or she...and a conflict occurs within the clan and an infamous, whom I am not at liberty to say for I do not know much of him, John Jay, strikes! To end such a thing I have several suggestions to which I plan on backing up. First: Countering - Start Up a so called "Spy" division with a head "Spy Master" - Infiltrate any enemy sites with a real account (not on of ours, use a real RS account that you may spot while playing, copy the name, look up stats, and apply.) - Repeat their process of Inflitratio Second: Indentification - Allow a new Rank to be formed under the grounds of False Applications, the Rank shall be called Validators. - This Rank IS THE ONLY RANK that can accept new members after a thurough look up of that player. - The Rank however can be cancelled and countered by any LEADER and ADVISOR and no other Ranking official. Third: Solution - Place an access list on the Key link with reliable members only, meaning true to COS members. - Create an alternate IRC Channel that gives a Key to a fake Channel for the Spies who may get through, while PMing in forum or in RS the real key. (A list will be given of the peope to PM) PLEASE NOTE: I WILL GLADLY TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR ALL ACTIONS IF THIS IS PUT INTO EFFECT. A SECRET MESSAGE WILL BE SENT TO THE LEADERS AND ADVISORS ADDRESSING AN ISSUE THAT CAN NOT BE POSTED HERE DUE TO POSSIBLE, CURRENT, INFILITRATION. ICIE, I SARA, SKIT, AND BEAVER...PM ME HERE ON FORUMS FOR ASSURANCE, OR ON RS AS A SECONDARY IF YOU ACCEPT THE TERMS. |

I like your thinking. The spy thingie is a big problem, and any idea that can help us counter spies is a good idea, unless it means dropping good members... 8/10 ftw ;d |

So you want to start the SIA (saradomin intelligence agency)? I think that its a great idea, but validators would need access to the Admin CP, so maybe they can just approve new members and the admins can validate them. |

Well, I like the idea of Validators, since it was an idea I had that I posted in the staff room. As for the spy idea, Jay won't allow anyone to do it because he wants to make 'peace'. |

yea, for real gardens? if jay wanted "peace" he would go out of his way to give a peace offering or something, not just say he wants peace. arudd is right, they will attack again when our guard is down as for wizzkids ideas, the spy idea is a very very bad idea. 2 wrongs dont make a right, some of us have seem to forgotten that. i will not support such acts, or a clan that supports them - plane and simple. jonni and wild are with me on this i beleive as well as many others so i dont see the issue here. we are not a devious clan, so lets keep it that way. the validating thing is a good idea. we need more realiable ways to combat new members and/or spies. making them log in may not even be good enough because many of jay's friends have lower lvl accounts (80's) to apply to our clan. maybe we should do something like i have seen on many other clans runehead members lists, make a "future member" section where the new members have to be in the clan for a while, with limited access to the forums, irc, ect, until we trust them. however, this may scare away new applicants and may pose more problems then solutions, so this is just an idea. validators who do hardcore research is a must in my opinion. i'm sure icie, titan and skit are to busy to look into each new applicant and while trying to expand probobly overlook some things such as *cough* *cough* marsh *cough* *cough* so i believe the validators position would be good, however i dont know how that would work with the admin CP and what not my two cents |

This must be a joke. Spies? Must we stoop down to the level of what we hate? Perhaps make the requirement for seeing the IRC key 25 posts perhaps? That way you can't just register and see it. |
