I was wondering how many of the double groove side 1 side 2 1h 1h stamp first press ppm copies are really out there, lot of people on eBay post 1g as a first press , I have read that the 1h maybe as little as 100,

I'm about to cry...seriously.
I bought a beautiful copy of the -1H/-1H PPM LP. When I was doing research on the album and discovered that only that one stamper had the additional pressing ring, I grabbed it. There are indeed VERY few copies that have -1H on BOTH sides. 100 would probably be small, but the number is not large.

Anyway, right after we moved two years ago, I think my dad accidentally threw it in the trash. I haven't seen it since. A tragedy.

Namralos a 1h 1h just sold on eBay it only went for £560, I guess collectors are still looking at 1g being the first press, those it's clear that these 1h where pressed on earlier machines, there is another on eBay for just under £2000, I know 5 other copies including my one,
I was lucky to get my copy in a job lot, I have 7 different types of mono ppm gold at the moment but still looking for a couple of different types,
Sorry to hear you have lost your copy, I would hate that to happen to any of my collection.

Just say about another ppm gold to note ,I have a northern songs flat label both sides and a northern songs with a groove side 2 and a flat side 1, i know this is more common on a dick James press but wondering how rare it is on northern songs.

I have a copy which has the pressing ring one side and a central extra pressing ring around the centre plug both sides - like a thin doughnut, the stampers are 1h and 1 over 2 GP

i was told only a handful of these exist but as ever thats probably just hyperbole, but they certainly do not turn up much.

The 1h 1h inner groove is much wider then the usual dick James type, from my understanding the 1h was printed on the older 1950s machines, I believe some of these older machines where later sent to India, I would say that every ppm gold with inner groove are harder to come by, I think this has shown on eBay sales over that last couple of years.

my copy is different to the one in the photo link, it has the same outer ring around the rim but it has two rings instead of one on the centre plug, like a very thin doughnut.

ps the other side it just has the double ring centre , no outer ring.

Although it is agreed that all these are pressings on obsolete machines, they do still differ from 50's early 60's pressings, these pressings have a very small centre plug, so the truth on these pressings may be a little more mysterious

I think I know the one you have, I don't have that one, like you say it is a hard one to find, only seen a handful over the years. Great score having one of them.
