Is it possible to determine the issue date by the "look" of the back cover number?
I have a sealed Beatles VI with a poster board cover (paste on slick).
It has no Gold Seal stamp to the front.
It does have the file under: The Beatles and catalog number to the upper right.
It has a tiny punch hole.
The number 18 is found at the back cover. It is faint and has the look of a light stamp as opposed to a darker printed number.

It was made some time between 1971 and 1977 and sold (probably) on the west coast.http://www.friktech.com/btls/CoverNumbers.pdf

One other fact to add: the "This Stereo Record Should Be Played Only With A Stereo Cartridge And Needle To Avoid Damage." info is present on the reverse.

Yeah. West coast covers put that back when it should have stayed off.
