...is how this would have been described by a UK seller. :D Posted Image Down here though it's just an SEA pressing. However, where I thought this one was interesting is that it was pressed in Malaysia, as evidenced by the Philips/Phonogram pressing ring. I think one or two of you here have such copies - I'm sure scans have been posted before (servi?) - but it's not a common pressing so thought I'd post to highlight the fact that SEA was still pressing the uncensored version after 1970. As I've posted before: ----- EMI did not own a pressing plant in Malaysia. It had part ownership in one with Philips/Phonogram and the Malaysian Government (Majlis Amanah Rakyat - MARA - an agency formed to aid indigenous Malaysians) since around 1970. The plant was controlled by Phonogram. Accordingly, thanks to the Government's involvement, EMI Malaysia's focus was on local artists and repertoire, where it held a substantial sales lead in the country, although as part of the EMI network it could be called upon to press for EMI subsidiaries and associates in the region (ie CBS etc) if need be. This, therefore, makes it incredibly easy to identify Malaysian pressings, because they will have the distinctive Philips/Phonogram ring. A quick search on discogs for EMI Malaysian pressings confirms this - those with "Buatan Malaysia" written on the label all have the distinctive pressing ring, at least up until the late eighties. ----- |

Thanks for the info Jae ! My copy of this Philips/Phonogram pressing came with a UK hybrid cover. Which cover does your copy have ? Also it has a SEA inner sleeve advertising LPs from November 1969. So I guess this copy is from 1970, not much later as hybrid covers are quite rare and found with some one box pressings in the UK (1969-1970). The black label without the pressing ring has a non-laminated SEA cover, so I guess that pressing is later, or where these pressed elsewhere at the same time ? Also there is a blue label, no idea when that one was pressed (sleeve and label style are identical to the black label version). When was the censored version pressed ? |

What's a hybrid cover? This came in a UK G&L sleeve with a plain EMI (SEA) branded white inner sleeve (no ads just logos). The censored version was pressed from around mid/late 1970. |

The hybrid cover is UK G&L cover, with both MONO PMC 7067 and STEREO PCS 7067 at the backside (upper right hand corner). It was used for example for 1969 one box mono and stereo pressings, but only for a minority. It's quite hard to find. |

Mine is just stereo. Exposed top inner flaps (if that means anything). |

That's the standard UK stereo cover, which shows that the Philips/Phonogram plant got UK covers. Who pressed the versions without the pressing ring (i.e. same label lay-out but flat labels) ? These pressings have SEA covers (no flipbacks, not laminated). |

I've only seen Malay and Singaporean pressings (Singapore pressed both censored and uncensored concurrently). Never seen one from the region with no pressing ring? |

See below two versions without the ring. The sleeve is a SEA sleeve, with "r.m.p" typo. Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image |
