I've just received a sealed copy of Revolver, Capitol? SW-2576. I cannot determine issue date or label style but my guess is either an Orange '76 issue or a later Purple label variation.
Which of those two would be the more collectible?

I don't know if either would be considered more collectible than the other, but I think the purple labels are attractive and the orange ones are among the least visually appealing to grace Beatles LPs in any country.

i am not an expert but did not some of the early orange have the same sleeve style as the colourbands/lime greens ( apart from the RIAA credit ) in that you can still see the ST number top front right.

I think by the time you get to the purples that ST number is no longer there / visible.

If it is in an SW- sleeve, then it is an orange, purple, or new rainbow copy.
None of them is particularly collectible, but the greatest likelihood is purple.

There were some orange labels that still used the ST- prefix and came in ST- covers.
This is interesting because there are Jacksonville copies on Apple that have an SW- sticker on the shrink wrap. This may mean that the other factories were printing orange labels while Jax was still unloading leftover Apples.

Frank, this one is very lightweight, leading me to believe it is likely a later Purple label.

Aren't the orange labels desirable because of thier mastering?
