Just purchase this item as a curio Sgt pepper STERO 1 Box with '''''RED''''' EMI Logo and Parlophone At first glance i thought someone had coloured in but ob receiving the item after purchase I can confirm that this is from the printers of the label. Has anyone seen this before - I can not see any reference to it else where Any info would be appreciated and any requests I'd be glad to answer. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/The-Beatles-Sgt-...cvip=true&rt=nc |

Never seen it. I'd say that the ink was added afterwards. |

well i understand what u mean, my gut is also self coloured however i have personally handled some 1 & early two boxes where the the parlophone logo and text were coloured YELLOW AGAIN my feeling was that these must coloured in but it was so well done it looked kosher i was told a story about special's being made to be presented to some emi bigwigs but again I have no idea how true this is. If it is true this could be one of these as the dates tie in with those Yellows. However my gut feeling is coloured in, I just have no idea how they could do such a pro job of it.... I remain on the fence because i have seen how well these are done and they sure look printed... i was told the yellow 1 & two boxes sold for big money. |

I'd say the pink was definitely added by a previous owner - it seems to cover parts where the black has worn away. If applied at the printers it would be on top of the black, not under it. |

Yes looks like added afterwards (coloured in) maybe a marketing ploy by seller wouldn't surprise me. |

[/QUOTE] Yes - I have a Hard day's Night STEREO 2 Box Gram Rim with yellow EMI and Parlophone They are not vibrant yellow but more like a yellow 'highlighter pen' when held at a certain angel in the light. Again with the RED EMI and Parlophone - the colours do not run into the black or smudge when inspected thoroughly under a magnifying glass. The No:1 test for me is to use a white damp cloth and rub gently over the suspected area to see if the ink comes off - In this case it did not. Thanks for the replies so far - much appreciated |

Its like the many forged Beatles signatures out there they use damaged material and if they make a mistake its cheap and damaged anyway so not much loss or maybe in this case the owner was bored and decided to colour it in. Also the red runs into the black which looks like in photo colour in job well that's my thoughts. |
