I do. That's a pretty good example, but you can still see the typical wear along the edges. From my book: "By mid-1980 more than 25,000 [blue box] sets had sold, representing 325,000 actual albums. To commemorate this six-platinum achievement, The Beatles’ Australian publisher ATV Northern Songs presented EMI (Australia) with a “gold box”. Four years later, EMI (Australia) would itself commemorate the achievement by releasing the set in a limited edition textured gold coloured box. 4,000 sets were released, with each containing a unique-numbered yellow certificate. "Like the Australian-made blue box, the gold box was prone to corner splits on the lift-off lid. In addition, the gold box suffered from the gold cover peeling, meaning that boxes in near mint condition are very rare. "Once the gold box sets were exhausted (well into 1987), production reverted back to the blue box until December 1988, when EMI (Australia) issued the digitally remastered vinyl catalogue in a UK-made wooden roll top box." |

Very interesting Jae. I have a UK Blue Box (like everyone else). I shall be researching more of this for my website sometime in the future. I think there are other colors too (Black/red etc) but I've got so much on I haven't looked into these releases in detail yet... |

Black and Red? Are you talking about the mono box? The set from New Zealand is interesting. It is sort of a blue/gray. Some copies look blue, but they have a washed-out look. Here's what Mitch McGeary says: http://www.rarebeatles.com/boxsets/boxset.htm He is missing a lot, including the first Beatles boxed set, but he has quite a few of the Beatles Collection sets listed. |

The NZ box is light blue and the print was either dark blue or gold. The first release contained the UK Rarities LP. |

Ah... You're right Frank. The black and red boxes do have 'mono' on the front of the box. I wonder how many of you have the original box set poster though! When I purchased mine a couple of years ago it was missing. I've found one since though. |
