couldn't read it, had to do a bit of editing
Hi guys and welcome to another one of Courtney's auctions of weird and wonderful
Here we have a 12" 78rpm acetate from the 60's of Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds
It plays but is obviously a test recording of some sort due to a speed inconsistency.
I acquired this in a job lot of Columbia/EMI/HMV and Parlophone acetates in an estate sale some years ago.
It is recorded on what the label says is an EmiDisc I do not have any other history of this other than what is shown.<
The B side looks to have been badly damaged to stop it being played.
I certainly wouldn't try it myself This has to be unique in the Beatles world due to the only countries releasing Beatles 78's were India, The Phillipines and Argentina Your guess is as good as mine. Have fun Courtney ;)

Well EMI used 12" acetates into the 60's as well a 7" and 10", 12" acetate of Yellow Submarine sold for £400 BIN, so not unique but looks genuine EMI acetate would be better if they had a sound sample.

I wouldn't touch it there are a few things wrong in my eye my first concern would be that the label looks like it's a 1950s acetate label would expect to see it on a white emi disc label. The other thing that would concern me is that it's a 78rpm my money would be on fake.i think someone has just used a 1950s blank.

Order your own copy for around 30 euro, for example here: https://drdub.com/en/vinyl-prices/vinyl/
Come on, 78 rpm in 1967 ??
