Should the demo copies that come with a Rush copy sleeve have JR on both sides or would this still be classed as early enough to be a "Demo ". If the labels had been clean would putting a sample sticker on add any value to it anyway . I mean obviously he has stuck one on and put it with a Rush copy sleeve to pass it off as a genuine demo but if he had this disk without a sample sticker and in a normal sleeve what sort of money would he be getting for it ? |

if the labels were clean it would be totally counter productive to stick a sample sticker on it let alone a dreadful homemade job like that one As for the stampers that is less of an exact science, JR codes can crop up on standard discs just as demo labelled copies can have later stampers ( i do not know of any LMD demo's with later stampers but that does not mean that could not exist ) Certainly demo's can exist with normal labels - when they ran out of demo labels or did not even print them ( SLY FMTY etc ). To me the main thing is that this sample label is simply so dreadful, its an embarrassment !! |

I'd offer him a fiver with the label so badly damaged. Sadly, I might have to pay for it! AH |

This seems to be a trend on Ebay now.....adding stickers to "make" items rare....I don't know how many Yellow Submarines ,Let it Be's and McCartney lp's with uber rare Odeon export stickers on them. Every one I've seen CLEARLY looks like the sticker was peeled off another lp and adhered to a Beatles cover. I can remember seeing One of these rarities MAYBE once a year pop up but I swear I've seen dozens this year. If you look closely, every one you see has damage to at least one corner of the sticker ,which shows that it's been peeled off another lp. I get sick when I see people throwing BIG money on these creations.....I've messaged quite a few of these sellers in the past letting them know there are forums out there with MANY of us discussing their fraud! I never let them know where to find us ,but I have to tell you, it drives these fraudsters CRAZY, when I message them that we are on to them! Some of you other guys should do it too. Let them know that WE as an honest community of Beatle fans know real stuff from fakes they are creating. |

Talk about lazy! Could've at least tried to font match rather than use the bog standard digital Times New Roman (at least they've condensed the spacing). Could have also better matched the colour. Here's one I just put together - took me about 10 minutes. Still obviously a fake (there's some obvious telltale signs which I deliberately built in so it couldn't be used), but IMHO much more "authentic"... Posted Image |

exactly Jae its a total embarrassment, an insult to the intelligence, of course if he really doesn't know any better as to what a sample sticker should look like he may have even really bought it like that.... |

yes I have started to wonder that, I keep seeing Let it Be's with the odeon sticker and they clearly look in bad shape and so look suss. However these odean stickers are not exactly easy to source.....unless you do see them a lot more on the continent, you certainly hardly ever see them in the UK, I had a Corries album with one once. |

You're being too kind. If you messaged him & told him it was fake, you think he'd remove it? At over £200 now, I doubt it, and how long before he 'finds' another? |

TO BE HONEST if anybody is paying over the odds partly for such a wretched sticker as that then they deserve to be parted from their money and I have little sympathy. But if they are after it for the stampers thats a different matter.... |

Wouldn't put it anywhere near that price for its stampers that sticker has to come off without damage if it comes off there may be graffiti under it I wouldn't put it much more than £130. £90 for the single and £40 for the top pop sleeve . |

I would say you would be hoping for more than £90 for a JR stamper copy or do you mean if it had graffiti on ? but according to your maths he has made an extra £80 by adding the sample sticker and creating a Demo . Is it the fact that he has added a sticker that is upsetting everyone or is it that obvious poor fake sticker that is the problem. |

Personally, I would say it adds nothing, intrinsically or to the value, although some collectors attach misdirected meaning to these stickers. It means what is says, that it should not be sold / retailed. It has left the factory, legitimately, for sample purposes. Such discs might be used as "demos" but really, that is anyone's fantasy, unless there is some other corroborative evidence. Some singles had no 'A' label demos, so in those cases ordinary copies were probably used for promotion purposes and a FS sticker applied. These would tend to be early pressings, with early stampers. But in the end, even if the sticker was genuine, this is a regular pressing (not a particularly early one, despite the JR stamper) with a piece of paper stuck to it. Someone's paid about £100 over fair value on a good day. It's eBay, buyer beware. |

The last time I told a counterfeiter how I knew his item was fake, two weeks later he produced the same fake ... now cleaned up to look better. |

To its the fact that the obvious fake insults the readers intelligence, but i think that the end price of 211 is not overly inflated when u take into account the stampers and sleeve.... |
