I recently picked up a very nice copy of the elusive ALL RIGHTS Apple issue of the Mccartney lp but it is in a Capitol printed cover. Is it possible it was issued this way? Isn't this around the time of Paul's catalog transition from Apple to Capitol? Could the last Apple pressing been put in a new Capitol cover?

Bruno, is yours a LA pressing or Jacksonville? I just saw a LA copy (one that I could not get) and it had a Capitol cover. My Jacksonville copy has a Apple cover with the Abkco print. It also has the SMAS and not the STAO prefix on the label (like I saw on the LA copy). This is a TOUGH lp to find with the "all rights" print, and there are two variations of it!

Mine is a LA pressing with the light green labels. It has the STAO catalog number. The cover has the round Capitol logo on the lower left back cover and the Mccartney Music address in the lower right.

I have no reason to believe a cover switch as the cover and record are in similar condition. I know anything could happen over the years, in terms of switched covers but it just seemed possible being that would be the transistion year.

Yes, your copy was probably released originally in that cover. And it is indeed HARD to find. It's one of the few "all rights" LP's that I do not possess at all.

GOOD GRAB! Where is the "All Rights' language on the label placed?

Thats exactly the pressing I have and my cover is in about the same condition! So that answers my question if it's possible for Capitol covers with All Rights Apple records!

I just got a nice "rights" pressing from Jacksonville. The cover has seam splits, but the record's okay. My Jax copy has an Apple cover with the additional ABKCO statement.
