I have just got vol 2 with y/b label. It looks and feels like a UK 70's pressing. How can I date it?

AH

EMISEA pressing.

Sleeve - flipbacks or not?
Sleeve - does it state "EMI Records (South East Asia) Limited or EMI (Singapore) Private Limited.

Early if former, later is latter.

There's other telltale signs, but I have to go right now.

Jae,

Were the SLPEA versions of GHV1 or GHV2 ever issued on one box (or Apple) labels? I've only seen them on B&Y labels, even though EMISEA adopted the one box label by the early 1970s -- in fact, all the other SLPEA Beatles LPs were issued exclusively on one box or Apple labels, and many of the Parlophone LPs originally issued on B&Y labels were reissued on one box.

Also, I've never seen the Pepe Jaramillo LP, SLPEA-1003, which was issued between GHV2 (B&Y) and the censored version of Oldies (one box). Do you know if it was issued on B&Y or one box?

Y/b only. Must have had a lot of label stock given they otherwise adopted the one-box in early 1969.

Not sure about the Pepe album - not seen a copy, just going off an EMI SEA release sheet.

The Admiral is officially gutted!

Whilst on holiday in Cornwall, in Tintagel of all places(!!!), I stumbled upon a record shop. I found a Y/B Parlophone Flipback Singapore Greatest hits vol2.

I hear you asking why am I gutted?

Well, some sod has ripped the cover to shreds and stuck it back together like a bloody jigsaw! Added to this, the label is severely faded :( Also, it's a Stereo copy!!!!

They had the cheek to price it at a fiver, I offered £2 just to give this sorry looking copy a good home.
