What was the very last issue year for the Capitol swirl "I Want To Hold Your Hand" / "I Saw Her Standing There" 5112? And how would one identify this latest issue? |

The most recent issue was in 1994. These can be most easily determined by looking at the matrix. In the matrix is the real catalog number, NR 58123. The Capitol Records rim text is also higher up on the label on this recent pressing than it was on the originals. |

Frank, my copy is as you describe with the exception of the matrix numbers in the dead wax, which are: X 4477-1 X 4477-2. Also "MASTERED BY CAPITOL" is machine stamped in dead wax. What pressing would this be? |

If the label looks like this one http://www.45cat.com/record/5112us you have the 1984 reissue. |

Frank, the image you posted did not come through. I'll try to describe the label. It is the Capitol swirl version. The Yellow & Orange are more dull in color than the original issues. The rim print begins at the "S" in "I Saw Her STANDING There" and ends at the "E" in the word THERE. There is no issue date present on the labels. Printed on the IWTHYH side is Duchess Music Corporation (MCA). Gil Music Corporation is printed on the reverse. |

Based on your description, you have the '84 reissue. The picture sleeve to the 1984 issue was edited in several ways. The one that got all the press at the time is that Capitol removed the cigarette from Paul's hand. |

O.K., I am able to view the pictures now. Yes, my copy matches the 1984 issue. Thank You, Frank. |
