I saw this on ebay. I am sorely tempted. If I could be sure it was a 78 and not a 45, I would be even more tempted. I've gotta believe that a steel needle and super heavy head, as was the norm for 78 phonographs, would tear a coated cardboard flexi apart within a few plays. That's why 78s are on shellac. It is brittle but has a harder surface than vinyl Hence my skepticism that this is a 78. Still, the graphics and back story are pretty irresistible. http://www.ebay.com/itm/MEGA-RARE-PICTURE-...6#ht_546wt_1153 |

These 78's are usually flexidiscs, as boots they are of various quality. Still making them until a late date. Read about a Blondie collection once. |

Looks like it could be one of those that was made in a booth designed for soldiers and armed forces members to send home messages. The pictures side says Happy Soviet Army. |

I bet you're right. Between that message and the fighter/bomber planes, that would certainly make sense. Also, the pre-printed blank looks much more official than the Polish flexi postcards with similar coated cardboard construction. Like I said, I'm tempted. |

That is a flexi. I have a similar one, which has a picture of the Beatles on the front, but plays Suzi Quatro's 48 Crash (...). |

Well it's gone now, and not to me. Ed: does yours play at 45 or 78 (or 33)? |
