K folks, Now I have that weird contract single I can take a slightly better photo of the label as well as give the matrix and stamper codes. Here's the label in all its beauty: Posted Image It has the Decca centre, but has the CBS texture and smooth edge around the perimeter of the label. It has the KT tax codes stamps in at the 12 o'clock position on each side and not embossed onto the actual labels. There's no mother or stamper codes at the 3 and 9 o'clock positions, and the standard matrix numbers stamped in at the 6 o'clock position. Can anybody shed any light on this? =) |

its ALMOST certainly Decca without holding it in my hand, the texturing is unusual but not unique by any means.... |

I have a whole selection of contract HJ's I'll compare it against. Anything in particular I should specifically look for? |

Yep... I've seen a couple of these. Textured Decca label. I can understand your thinking though. That smooth area around the perimeter is similar to a CBS... As with previous threads/topics the wonder of Decca variants never ceases to amaze me! |

CBS and Oriole pressings do not have the pressing ring in the centre, and the centre area is typically rough -- not textured. |
