I ALWAYS Have problems with my bears lol !!!....one shits in the woods but which lol

ps 1g 1g with PZT shows how fast these things changed....and also that maybe 1G stamper was not always first used, that would explain why i see 1G mother stampers on LP's that date a couple of years after first release.....

It's obvious that 1/G - 1/G is not the earliest pressing Stamper for the LMD single as the PT tax code wasn't implemented until late Nov-62 thru Dec-62. I think that the factory created a stack of Stampers from the first Mother and then when they went into production, they didn't pay that much attention to which ones got paired up. This would also explain why there is a red label PPM with 3/G0 & -/JR pairing. Aside from the Demo JR pressings, it appears that the earliest red label pressings (Oct-62) has only ZT in the deadwax, 1/P - JR, and 1/P - 1/G, and then 1/G - 1/M, all of which have M.I.G.B. text and WOZT embossed on the pushout center has only been found on the first two.

(update: I have since read through the Spizer/Daniels Parlophone book and have confirmed most of my beliefs)

From my research on this single it is quite obvious that emi parlophone expected LMD to be a flop it was quite common for them in these cases to make stock in the first instance from the demo stampers as they didn't want to make a lot of stock the typical number for these runs was 300 copies that's why the very first copies of this single are JR/JR.and in my honest opinion these copies are the very first records in the world with the word beatles on them and to that a very interesting item.

The UK My Bonnie, released 9 months earlier had the words "The Beatles" as well and may be the first one....
A LMD JR/JR is much more desirable nonetheless because it's the first real Beatles release.

Yes I forgot about that one but I know which out of the two would be the harder to find.

if i were to be picky LMD JR JR can be regarded as the first release by the Beatles as a stand alone act, i beleive on the Jan 62 My Bonnie they are just Tony Sheridan's backing band....

Just looking at the top of the list 1G/1G had PT on the push out and PZT on the dead wax by way of thinking surely PZT is a transitional code between ZT and PT I would expect to see G1/G1 with a ZT tax stamp in the dead wax surely.

These are my copies of the red label...

ZT 1 G / ZT JR "Made in Gt. Britain" text.
PZT 1 GA / PZT 1 GG NO "Made in Gt. Britain" text.
MPZT 1 RR / MPZT 1 RG "Made in Gt. Britain" text.
MPZT 1 GO (AD crossed out) / MPZT 1 H NO "Made in Gt. Britain" text or ) Side 2 credit.

NONE of my copies have an embossed tax imprint on the labels!! All of them have superb labels and therefore I don't suspect they have worn down.

And for curiousity sake, here are my copies of the first black label...

MPZT 1 RH / MPZT 1 R0 PMKT tax code on label.
"The Parlophone Co. Ltd." rim text in upper & lower case. NO "SOLD IN U.K." text.
MPZT 1 AD / MPZT 1 RH KT tax code on label.
"The Parlophone Co. Ltd." rim text in upper & lower case. "Recording first published..." and "SOLD IN U.K." text.

I'm curious... the one that has 1/G - JR (ZT) without the tax code embossed on the center pushout, which label does it have based on Spizer's code?

PAR 4949.01A(i): Has the MIGB text, with the indented publishing credits (Ardmore & Beechwood LTD) indented to the right, aligned over the XC of the Matrix No. (7XCE 17144 45). All other pressings have the pub credit left aligned with the matrix number.

The only ones I'm concerned with are the earliest red label LMDs with only ZT in the deadwax.
