Is anyone going to buy a ticket for the sound of Abbey Road lectures, incl engineer Ken Scott ? Okay, it's expensive (90 pounds), but it was excellent last time I was there in 2012 and how do you get in otherwise ? Also they have original instruments, microphones and tape machines on display. I'm thinking of treating myself to a trip to London including this AR show, which is expensive but not as expensive as a gold PPM ;)

I saw the announcement yesterday and this time it would be possible for me to fly to London, as Easter school holidays last until the end of April this year in Germany. I could make the 25th or 26th.
The one problem is money - as you say, it's quite expensive. If I go, I would at least stay for 4 or 5 nights but I see that even London budget hotels have almost doubled in price since my last visit in 2010. I always hoped, that after the Olympic games, prices would come down again but it hasn't happened.
So I don't know if I can afford it at the moment. The AR lecture should be sold out anyway in a few days.

There's plenty of German airports with a Stansted connection via Ryanair.....

I normally sleep in front of the studios ;) I say "I'm so tired", then wisper "Goodnight" and if someone asks me what I am doing I'll say "I am only sleeping".

Well, you could also present yourself naked to a traffic warden at the zebra crossing and tell him/her, that everybody's got something to hide except you and your monkey - I'm sure you'll have a free overnight stay after that - breakfast included! ;)

Still struggling...
It must have been quite impressive though, otherwise you wouldn't go and pay that much a second time.

Here is an impression of what to expect (excluding the lecture by Kehew and Ryan for which filming is prohibited). At the end of the lecture they re-created the last chord of "A day in the life" on the actual pianos that were used on the recording. At some point they showed a picture of the Beatles recording the PPM LP and they were standing on exactly the same spot as I was sitting on my chair at that moment. Those red chairs you see in the video, are still the originals from the 1950s or so and were used by artists that were recording (there are several pictures showing the Beatles sitting on them). Unfortunately we weren't allowed to take a chair home. They showed us Ringo's ashtray that he had next to his drums (really), the echo chambers right next to number 2 and Martin's original control room microphone, original BTR2 and BTR3 tape machine, the mixing desk for the AR LP, the limiters and compressors, the original Neumann microphones etc.
All in all we were inside the studios for almost 3,5 hrs (concerning ticket prices: imagine what it would cost to hire the studio for 3 hours....). It was one of the best Beatles experiences in my life. It was an opportunity to talk to Beatles fans from all over the world and the atmosphere was great because everyone was so excited (although the Mrs Mills fans complained that there was too much Fab Four).
