 That's getting a bit OT, but, servi, you certainly got the gist of my remark. Well, it's a sad truth, isn't it?

What consoles me is that my 5th variant cost me 12 Deutschmarks (now 6.10 Euros or less than 5 Pounds or around 7 Dollars) sometime during the '90's and its nm with an ex cover. I've seen this and later pressings offered for at least three times that sum. And think of all those poor collectors round the world who can't even boast of a 7th variant of that unremarkable side-issue of the Beatles catalogue! I pity them, as a proud possessor of the fifth pressing!

On a more serious note, don't you think that it can turn out the other way? I'm not a collector who buys and resells records, I bought most of my records before I got into distinctions and qualifications that were and are still being discussed on this forum or that were so admirably presented on websites such as Frank's Meagre Beatles Site or the JPGR site or Yokono. I started buying before I started collecting and way before I even knew the internet. And sometimes this forum holds pleasant surprises for me. I tried to complete my US issues long after first issues, if at all, had been available in Germany. I didn't know if I bought variants or when an Apple or orange label was pressed. I only recently found out that my Y&T copy was the Winchester pressing with the true stereo version of the three Revolver songs (yes, the one that muffmasterh has been searching for in vain). And when I unearthed my 1966 pressing of the German WTB, I found it was a Teldec contract pressing. It's quite clear that this forum can upgrade as well as downgrade your records.

End of OT rant.

Two more Beatles SR International releases. Not very collectable ones, but you don't see those very often...

Very chuffed with this LP I received today (45 euro delivered, EX condition): the "Made in Switzerland" version of "And now: the Beatles" with Austro Mechana print and "Made in Germany" on the label. The label is slightly dish-like (or whatever that's called in English), it was a bit hard to get this on photograph. The matrix no. is almost similar to the German version, except that there is an "F" added on side 1. The vinyl is thicker than the German pressing and has a different rim. Maybe this is a true Swiss pressing after all.

I got an "And Now: The Beatles" LP with Austro Mechana label, without any country mentioned in the matrix. It looks like standard German pressing and is different from the Swiss pressing above. Does anybody have a copy with "Made in Austria", or does anyone know if this exists (similar to "World's Best" with "Made in Austria" matrix) ?

From all I've seen, there is only one LP apiece with "Made in Switzerland" or "Made in Austria" in the matrix. Considering the numbers of serious German/Swiss/Austrian Beatles collectors, I am going to assume if more of them existed, they would have been found by now (until another surfaces to prove me wrong).

Is your latest find one that had been documented before (I'm too lazy to re-read the entire thread)?

Don't know. I was puzzled because I assumed that the Austro Mechana version of "And now" had either "Made in Switzerland" or "Made in Austria" but this is what I have found thus far:
- And now Austro Mechana- Made in Switzerland matrix
- And now Austro Mechana- standard German matrix
- Worlds Best standard label - Made in Austria matrix

I've seen a crossover "And now"copy as well (one side GEMA, other side Austro Mechana). I have not seen "And now" with "Made in Austria" matrix.

Just found a label variant of the World's Best LP from Austria. See the 2 different versions below. Both copies have "Made in Austria" stamped in the matrix.

Any differences aside from ST33 switching places relative to BESTELL-NR. 77 235?
