Just seen on TV text that Apple plan to release outtakes to keep Beatles in copywriter. Includes she loves you, taste of honey and more BBC.

Word is that the tracks have been available on itunes for , perhaps, minutes before being pulled by Apple. So this has been a very limited release. However, all is not lost. Nudge, nudge ;) ;)

Indeed, from Wogew:
The Beatles: "Bootleg Recordings 1963" is no longer available from iTunes. Eight hours after the collection was made available, it disappeared again from all the iTunes stores in all the countries. We don't think it was even made available in the UK. But by doing this stunt, The Beatles have secured their copyright on these recordings for 70 years. Chances are they'll want to do something with these tracks during those years.

The set was still available at iTunes UK this morning - but at £34.99 I think I will stick to my bootleg CDs!! I'm assuming the iTunes versions will be better quality than what I have at the minute, but I can't justify spending that much just to download upgrades of studio outtakes that I have had for years. If it was made into an official CD then yes I'd probably get it, but not a download.

Also, I don't think it includes every single unreleased outtake and BBC song from 1963, does it? Aren't there studio outtakes of Don't Bother Me available on boots? That song isn't on the iTunes set.

About half of the tracks are from "bootleg sources" anyway! Unfortunately, it will cost almost as much to cherry pick the reamainder!

http://wogew.blogspot.nl has a list of everything from 1963 that is on bootlegs, incl Don't Bother me outtakes. No idea if it's complete but probably it's taken from books by John C. Winn, Belmo, Unterberger and others.
